Eyebrows slightly raised as she considered Zaire's words,Callysra began to feel like she hardly knew her friends husband, which... She really didn't. She supposed it wouldn't hurt to get to know him more, and if she still hated his cocky ass she could go back to being openly cold to him. Instead or trying to make her intoxicated brain form replies, Callysra just nodded in response to his ongoing talk, never having heard him talk for so long. At his suggestion of her cursing him, Callysra lit up, "I probably would have if I could've" she mused, thinking of how she'd thought about it so many times.
Slightly annoyed by his over reaction to her attempt at being friendly, Callysra had to resist the urge to knock him off his ass. "Shut up Zaire, for one. And for two, I'm just taking a different perspective that's it," she said flatly, then added a small smile, "and I'm blaming it on my firewhisky." Leaning in forward and whispering in return to stop the looks Callysra stared at the infuriated man in front of her, "well what are you going to do about it? Wallow in your fucking pity?"

Zaire made no comment to her silent response. He settled for nodding in return. He wasn't about to let himself start rambling on, telling his whole life story, again. The bit of enthusiasm at his suggestion was no surprise. He let out a small snort of amusement. "And why couldn't you have?" he questioned. Surely if it sounded like such a great idea to her, she could have and would have.
For a second he furrowed his eyebrows, but then, relaxing, he just shrugged his shoulders. "Why should I?" he asked, raising a single eyebrow. He gave a humorless laugh. "Yeah, it must be that firewhiskey. You would have left a while ago if you were sober," he responded. Zaire sighed, but did not answer, thinking about the question, or trying anyhow. "I really don't know. It's not as easy as just getting up and walking away. I'm not like her, or my mother. However, I don't want to be like my father either, I'm not going to be seventy-two and still dealing with her shit," he finally said in all honesty. "But no, I'm not just going to 'wallow in my fucking pity'," he added in a growl.

Shrugging Callysra let out a soft, dissapointed sounding sigh, "because I knew that it would sadden Ara, and I'm sure I would get some displeasure from The Dark Lord, needlessly killing a fellow death eater and all," she replied casually, sounding as if she were dissapointed she hadn't been able to.
Rolling her eyes, Callysra rephrased herself, "fine don't shut up, just don't yell like the drunken ass you are. And you bet I would've, damn firewhisky has me glued to my seat for at least a while longer." Laughing at his finishing growl Callysra shrugged one shoulder, "why don't you give her an ultimatum of sorts? If she wants you as much as you think, then she should give you more time other than your quick fucks, and if she doesn't, then why the hell should you waste your time?"
Callysra couldn't believe she was giving Zaire of all people advice, but what was done was done. She was in no way intending on hurting Ara, and she wanted what was best for her friend, however seeing how miserable Zaire really was, made her feel guilty for hating him as much.

"Did you just say 'sadden Ara'?" he questioned in disbelief. Zaire laughed. "I don't think she's been sad in...eh, thirty years?" he shook his head. "Maybe a little pissed," he said. Zaire laughed harder. "Not if you had done it at the suggested time, he probably would've rewarded you," he snorted, shaking his head again. "You'd probably get a little gold star if you took Wormtail out along the way," he smirked.
Zaire shrugged and nodded. "Fair enough...though, you have no place to talk, you're closer to wasted than I am," he rolled his eyes. He chuckled. "Maybe you should drink more often then," he said sarcastically. He glared, blue eyes cold. Listening to what she was saying, his expression immediately switched to a mixture of amusement, interest and confusion. One eyebrow raised, yet smiling slightly, he gave a soft laugh. "First off, what are you, a counselor? Second, that's actually a lovely idea there, but no...there's much more to it, and, well...I'm likely to just scew myself, and the girls, over," he said with a small frown. "They don't deserve what would come out of it ending badly," he whispered, staring at the table.

Callysra shrugged to show she didn't agree, "I think it would sadden her the slightest to be honest, and if not her, surely the twins would be saddened for the loss of their father, don't you agree?" Laughing, Callysra nodded, "well wormtail I would've done without a second thought."
Rolling her eyes in return, Callysra replied in a fakely drunk drawl, "what'd you say?" she asked, "I'm definetly not drunk." Laughing and returning serious again, Callysra winked, "yeah I'm a drunk counselor, the ones you really want advice from." Nodding in understanding that now he had to think of Alyra and Onyxa before him, Callysra sighed, he really was stuck no matter what. "Well... I don't know what to say. You just have to make the best of it I suppose, and find someone's sorry ass to torture instead of The Dark Lord's, or Ara's."

Zaire just gave a snort of laughter. "Yeah, the next time after that, that the Dark Lord wasn't around and she wanted somebody to fuck, she'd be a bit sad," he said. Completely serious again, he nodded to Callysra. "That I do agree on...having to raise yourself is no fun," he said, knowing that Ara did not care for them. She almost never even spoke to them, unless they had misbehaved. He chuckled. "Wouldn't we all like to do that..." he said, knowing he had been tempted to kill Peter many, many times.
He shook his head and rolled his eyes again. "Take another shot of Firewhiskey and you'll be wasted," he said in sarcasm, and laughed softly. He nodded, putting on a look of mock concern. "And how does that make you feel?" he asked, tilting his head. He immediately snapped back to seriousness again. "Well that's nothing I didn't already know. But, yes, that is always a good temporary solution," he agreed. "Of course Ara's ass would be preferred, but I will admit that I would just end up getting my ass beat instead," he laughed and sighed.

Laughing slightly, Callysra didn't know how to reply, though she knew it was true. Nodding back, Callysra shook away memories. Her father. Brandy. "No... it's not. Neither is an abusive and careless mother though..." She trailed off, not meaning to have sounded so depressed.
Sneering playfully, Callysra shot a glance at Aberfroth. Nope. No more firewhisky tonight. "And how many until you're done for, hmm?" she replied. Snorting from his imitation of the stereo-typical counselor, and one that acted just like her childhood one, Callysra shook her head, "you should put in an application," she said, pretending to be serious.
Callysra nodded in understanding and played with the corner of the table, tracing it's edge slowly and watching how her finger glided over it smoothly. "You could always give someone the appearance of her and torture them, that might help," she said jokingly.

Heaving a deep sigh, he shook his head, Bellatrix's face clear in his mind. "No..not it's not..and the combination is hell," he said firmly. He stared at Callysra for a moment, not even entirely aware of it, as he wondered curiously, why the topic meant so much to her. Ara had once told him that she was adopted, but nothing more.
Raising an eyebrow, he smirked. "Go on, order another," he pressed on jokingly. He thought about it for a second, before replying, "Oh, it would take a fair bit more to get me completely wasted," he left it at the vague answer. He nodded seriously, playing along. "I think I will, last I heard St. Mungo's was in need of a new counselor," he said.
"What amazing advice, you really do make an excellent drunk counselor," he said still keeping the serious tone, though he was joking. "I should really look into that..." he trailed off in mock thought. "Hey, can I use you for a test?" he smirked.

Callysra agreed with him whole heartedly and sighed with him, "yeah it is... Though I don't know which is worse. Having them not give a shit about you, or have them beat the shit out of you, cause at least then they notice you..."
Considering another firewhisky, Callysra shook her head, "no, I'm done for the day," she replied firmly, then raised an eyebrow in reply to his answer. Giving him a half smile, she nodded, "I'm sure you'd make good money too."
Still full of firewhisky, things seemed funnier than they actuallly were, and Callysra bursted out laughing. "Yes you should, and sorry, I've already been called on, but wormtail is free tonight."

Zaire made a small humming noise of agreement. It truly was quite hard to say which was worse. "I think it depends on exactly what you go through, and how you take it..." he said softly. "When you have nothing, you think any attention would be great...but then when your first bit of real attention is getting the shit beat out of you..." he trailed off for a second. "It ruins the desire for any parental care," he finally finished. "That's my opinion anyhow..." he added, shrugging.
Shrugging and nodding, he left the subject at that. It was probably better that way. Though, he raised an eyebrow back. It seemed like a silent question that she was avoiding asking. "Did you have something more to say?" he questioned. He sighed. "Yes, but, unfortunately, I don't I would be taken very seriously as a counselor...do you?" he tilted his head.
Eyebrows raising, he gave a small, almost nervous sounding, laugh. "Yeah, you've definitely had enough," he said quietly. He snorted. "Damn," he made a face of fake disappointment. "Maybe I'll take Wormtail in a few days," he added, really serious now. "I don't dare do it tonight, I'm sure if I injured a fellow Death Eater too severely, even Wormtail, I'd get it myself tomorrow..." he nodded, before turning to look Callysra straight in the eyes again, wondering if she had remembered. The way it seemed, she didn't. "You are aware there's a meeting tomorrow, right?" he asked. "And I mean...at the Manor."

Callysra began slipping in and out of memories as Zaire spoke. Christmas.... Running away... The beatings.... Everything rushed in on her from her past. She hadn't realized how cold her voice had gotten as she spoke, but her anger wasn't directed at Zaire. "Yeah you're right. Some people just shouldn't fucking have kids if they don't intend to care about them."
Tilting her head in reply, Callysra gave a tight smile, "Not at all, and I'm sure if someoen was desperate enough, they might go to you," she replied.
Laughing softly, Callysra's fingers itched to take hold of her wand, all of this talk of torture made her yearn to hear those ear splitting screams and cries for mercy. She had some grudge's to take out.
A meeting? She thought in surprise. Either she was too drunk to remember it, or no one had told her. "No.... When?" Callysra said slowly, racking her brain for any rememberance of this meeting that was supposedly goign to occur.

Zaire tilted his head and watched Callysra for a minute, studying her. "You know, you're a very..different Death Eater, you remind me of Narcissa, except you're an actual member somehow," he said softly. He continued to simply stare for another minute, but then asked before he could stop himself. "What happened to you as a child?" he questioned.
They sat in silence for a few minutes. Zaire stared ahead, his blue eyes blankly boring into the wall of the pub. His mind was buzzing with a mixture of thoughts. Memories, daydreams of torture, other random things. He turned his head at Callysra's voice. "Afternoon, two o'clock I believe...however, if his mood is anything like it was this afternoon, I would arrive early if I were you," he replied.

Raising her eyebrows, she looked up at him in surprise, "what's that supposed to mean?" she asked in confusion. She wasn't sure that it was exactly a compliment, but it wasn't meant to be insulting either. At his next question Callysra's face darkened slightly, and her old anger returned. "The usual happy family shit," she snapped back, then let herself calm down a moment before replying in a normal tone. "My mom died when I was four, so my oh so loving father re-married the biggest child hater ever, maybe with the exception of Ara..." Callysra smiled slightly at the sarcasm, then continued. "The bitch slapped me around, and did all the physical and mental abuse she could manage, all the while my coward ass father watched, not stopping her or saying a word to be, so I ran away... but of course being in a muggle world, I was caught and adopted. But that part's the better half of my childhood." Not realizing she had just gone on and on about her childhood, Callysra looked down, blushing slightly. "I'm not complaining," she said coldly, "It made me who I am, and I like me, but I don't think any kid should have to deal with that shit."
Nodding in reply, Callysra mumbled "thanks," to his heads up, and started planning her day for tomorrow, figuring out what needed to be done.

Zaire rested his chin in his hand and looked at Callysra. He remained silent as she talked, letting her explain. Sighing heavily, he nodded in understanding as she finished her brief replay of her childhood. "Well, first off I have to say, I think the Dark Lord tops everyone as far as child-hating goes," he said, giving a small smile. "Ara certainly would be next," he said, smirking still. The smirk immediately faded, however. "I agree, though. No child deserves any of that...maybe once their an adult, but not before," he nodded stiffly. "So, just out of curiosity, was your father careless before your mother died, or only after he remarried?" he asked, tilting his head. It reminded him of a reversed version of Jack and Marilyn Thomas.

Feeling slightly surprised by his acceptance of her rambling, and agreement, Callysra gave him a small smile in return, "that's true, he is." Callysra nodded with him, wishing that some things could be different.
It took a moment for callysra to answer, because she was lost in her memories again, when her childhood was alright. When her mother and father were both happy, when everyone was happy. "No..." she said in a distant sounding voice, staring at nothing. "Everything was great before he died, afterwards he resented me, I guess I reminded him too much of my mother," she said softly, looking down.
Callysra stayed silent as Zaire replied, but before she could make her own response she heard someone say her name from behind. Turning quickly, she saw the astronomy professor, whom she couldn't recall the name of. "Can I help you?" she asked with a rather annoyed voice. "Your daughter wants you," the professor replied. Immediatley my heart skipped a beat, and she wondered what Arroe might need. "Where is she?" Callysra replied, slightly worried. "At Hogwarts," the professor replied, then without another word, left. Turning back to Zaire, Callysra gave an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry... but it was... actually nice talking to you Zaire... I hope we can again sometime," she said quietly, then turned and left to pay for her drinks.
